General FAQ

1. What is Bulk SMS?

Bulk SMS is a phenomenon whereby a user can get in touch with up to a million users within minutes via a test message in an economical manner.

2. How does this work?

SpurrSMS is an intermediate platform between the Service Provider such as Vodafone, Airtel, BSNL, Reliance, Tata Indicom, Aircel, Idea etc and the end user. Once an SMS is sent by the user, SpurrSMS captures the SMS, deposits the message in the Service Provider’s server. Thereon, it is upon the Service Provider to deliver the message to the destination specified by the user.

3. What is a Sender Id?

Sender ID is the name by which the user wants to go by amongst his clients. This can be set by the user while signing up for the service. If the Sender ID has to be changed, the user must inform SpurrSMS by mail or call. This is to ensure low fraudulence by impersonating other Senders for example Airtel or Vodafone.

4. Why can’t I have a name set as my Sender ID for CDMA numbers as for GSM numbers?

We wish we could help you out!!

CDMA technology does not allow Alphanumeric Masking, which allows user to use a name like “TAJ HOTELS” or “PVR”. Thus, a number of the user’s choice can be set which will be the Sender ID for CDMA numbers. Whereas, for GSM numbers any permissible Sender ID can be used.

5. I tried setting my Sender ID but only part of it is visible in the message. Why is this?

Dear user, please note that the sender ID has a character limitation of 8 characters. Any character beyond this limit will be automatically discarded. A <space> is also considered as a character.

6. Will there be delivery reports?

Delivery reports can be provided, but with only 60% percent accuracy by the Service Provider themselves.

7. What is Multi Modal Alerting System?

SpurrSMS paves way for users to send text messages to a target group using Multiple Modes of Mobile Phones, Emails or Voice Calls.

 

8. Security of client database and customer privacy

1. Can I license SpurrSMS for my existing clients?

What else are we here for? Of course!! We are just a call or mail query away. You can license the code and install SpurrSMS for your existing users. There is a license fee of $1000 per year and a usage cost of 10 paise per sms throughout India across any Service provider.

2. Can I rebrand the site when I license it?

Yes, it’s all yours. It will be your very own Bulk SMS Platform. Sounds interesting, doesn’t it?

3. I'm an international reseller is it possible for me to install the system in my country.

Do not worry, we can help you out with this as long as we have some information from your side regarding the Service Providers in your country.

1. Is there any difference in charges between Local SMS and National SMS?

Not at all, we charge the same for Local and National SMS

2. Which all Service Providers do you have connectivity with?

Dear user, SpurrSMS has pan connectivity with all the Service Providers across the nation namely;

3. Is it possible to integrate this software with our existing company website?

Yes, even this is possible and very simple. We can provide you an API (Application Programming Interface) which will assist you to achieve this.

4. Is it possible to upgrade a package?

Package upgrades are not an issue, when you want to upgrade your package, contact us.

5. Is this a loop or simultaneous process?

SpurrSMS is an instant messaging solution. If you send 10,000 messages at once, all of them will be sent at the same time and will be delivered as if messages were sent individually at the same time.

6. How and where do we make the payments?

7. Will there be online support or help available?

Yes, we have online support. You can always drop in a mail or call us anytime of the day.

8. What is the Maximum text allowed in single SMS?

The maximum number of characters allowed in a single SMS is 160. You can only avail close to 90 characters as this is a free site. If the limit is overshot, the message will be truncated.

While typing the SMS, when the user overshoots the character limit, a dialog box pops up as a reminder.
